50 DCLM Prayer Points Against Arrows of Distraction:

Biblical Exhortation:

Beloved, the enemy knows that a distracted mind cannot focus on God’s will and purpose for your life. He will shoot fiery darts of distraction – through worries, anxieties, vain imaginations, and worldly allurements – to derail your spiritual journey and hinder your progress. But the Word of God encourages us to be sober and vigilant, for our adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). Therefore, let us put on the whole armor of God, that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:11). Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the¹ shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews² 12:2). Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Stay focused on the Lord and His Word, for He will keep you in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Him, because he trusts in Him (Isaiah 26:3).

Confession:

I confess that my mind has sometimes been a battlefield of distractions. I have allowed worldly cares and vain imaginations to draw my attention away from the Lord. I confess that I have not always been vigilant against the subtle arrows of the enemy. But today, I choose to turn away from every form of distraction. I declare that my mind is the Lord’s. I take authority over every thought that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and I bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians³ 10:5). I declare that my focus is on Jesus, and I will not be moved by the distractions of this world. I receive the grace to stay alert and steadfast in my walk with God, in the name of Jesus, Amen.
