50 DCLM Prayer Points Against the Spirit of Being Unforgiving

50 DCLM Prayer Points Against the Spirit of Being Unforgiving:

Exhortation:

Beloved, today we stand at a crossroads. The path behind us may be littered with hurts, offenses, and disappointments. The sting of betrayal, the sharpness of unkind words, and the weight of unmet expectations can feel heavy, binding us to the past. But God, in His infinite mercy and love, calls us forward to a place of freedom – a freedom that begins with forgiveness. Unforgiveness is a prison, locking us within the walls of bitterness and resentment. It poisons our hearts, hinders our prayers, and ultimately, separates us from the fullness of God’s blessings. Today, I urge you to consider the cost of holding onto what has hurt you. Is the pain you cling to worth the spiritual stagnation it brings? God desires healing and restoration for you. He wants you to walk in the light of His love, unburdened by the chains of the past. Choose today to release the grip of unforgiveness and step into the liberating power of God’s grace.

Confession:

Heavenly Father, we come before you today with humble hearts. We confess that we have, at times, harbored unforgiveness in our hearts. We have replayed past hurts, nurtured resentment, and allowed bitterness to take root. We have struggled to let go of offenses, both big and small. We acknowledge that this unforgiveness has hindered our spiritual growth, clouded our judgment, and strained our relationships. Lord, we confess that we have not always extended the same grace and mercy that you so freely give to us. Forgive us, Father, for the times we have chosen to hold onto pain rather than embrace your healing. Cleanse our hearts and create in us a spirit of forgiveness, in Jesus name, Amen.

Scripture Reading:

Please read Matthew 6:14-15:

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.1

This is the Word of the Lord.
