Exhortation:
In our daily lives, we often face the temptation to be complacent and lazy, both spiritually and physically. However, the Bible calls us to be diligent and active in our faith and work. Proverbs 12:24 reminds us that “The hand of the diligent will rule, but the lazy man will be put to forced labor.” As believers, we must strive to overcome the spirit of laziness and be persistent in all we do, whether it’s in serving God or in our personal pursuits.
Confession:
Father, I come before You today with a repentant heart. I confess that at times I have allowed the spirit of laziness to take root in my life. I confess that I have not been diligent in my studies, work, and in my service to You. I ask for Your forgiveness, Lord, and I repent of every action and thought that has led me away from being industrious in Your kingdom. I declare that I am free from the spirit of laziness, and I receive the strength to be diligent, focused, and hardworking in all that I do, for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Praise & Worship:
Song of Praise: “I Will Praise You Lord”
I will praise You, O Lord, with all my heart.
I will serve You, I will honor You, with my hands and my heart.
You are worthy of all my praise,
I will not grow weary, I will not grow faint.
My hands will work for Your kingdom,
My feet will run for Your purpose, Lord.
Lord, I worship You, for You are my strength,
You are the source of my labor and rest.
I lift my hands and my voice in praise,
For Your grace makes me diligent all my days.
Bible Verse:
Proverbs 6:6-11 –
“Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest— and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.”
