50 DCLM Prayer Points Against the Spirit of Spiritual Lukewarmness:

Exhortation:

Beloved, the fire of God is meant to burn brightly within us. We are called to be fervent in spirit, serving the Lord with zeal and passion. Yet, the enemy seeks to dim that flame, to lull us into a state of spiritual apathy, where our prayers become routine, our worship half-hearted, and our hunger for God’s Word diminishes. This is the dangerous spirit of spiritual lukewarmness. Revelation 3:15-16 warns us of the Lord’s displeasure with this state: “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.”¹ Today, let us examine our hearts and cast off every weight that hinders our spiritual fervor. Let us stir up the gift of God within us and rekindle the fire of the Holy Ghost. Let us arise and pray against this spirit of lukewarmness with all our might, seeking a fresh outpouring of God’s Spirit upon our lives.

Confession:

Heavenly Father, we come before You today with humble hearts. We confess that at times, we have allowed the fire within us to dwindle. We have become complacent, our passion for You has waned, and the things of this world have distracted us from our devotion to You. We confess that we have not always been fervent in prayer, diligent in studying Your Word, or zealous in sharing Your Gospel. Forgive us, Lord, for every instance of spiritual apathy and lukewarmness. Cleanse us from every form of spiritual lethargy and ignite within us a fresh hunger and thirst for You. We acknowledge our need for Your reviving power and ask for Your grace to overcome this spirit of indifference.
