DCLM Prayer Points Against Losing Sight of Eternity

DCLM Prayer Points Against Losing Sight of Eternity

In our daily lives, we are constantly bombarded by the distractions and pressures of this world. It is easy to lose sight of the eternal perspective, as we become overwhelmed with temporary pursuits and pleasures. However, as believers, we are called to fix our eyes on the eternal hope we have in Christ Jesus. The Apostle Paul encourages us in 2 Corinthians 4:18, saying, “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

We must be intentional about keeping our focus on the things that truly matter—our relationship with God, our eternal destiny, and our calling to serve others. Let us not allow the transient nature of this world to lead us astray, but instead, let us run the race with perseverance, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).

Confession:

Father, in the name of Jesus, I confess that I have sometimes allowed the distractions and challenges of this world to cause me to lose sight of the eternal. I repent of all the times I have prioritized temporary things over the eternal reward that awaits me in Christ Jesus. I ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing, Lord. Strengthen my heart and my mind to focus on the eternal hope I have in You. Help me to set my heart on things above, not on earthly things. I declare that my eyes are fixed on You, Lord, and I will live in light of eternity. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Bible Verse:

Colossians 3:2     – “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”
